Having grown up in Hong Kong, Sarah has firsthand experience of the intense pressures faced by youth and young professionals in this fast-paced city. Her journey through Hong Kong’s education system, followed by university in Edinburgh, has given her a unique lens through which she approaches counselling. Witnessing the impact of mental health stigma in Hong Kong inspired her to become part of the change, leading to her work at Mind Hong Kong and training in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. Her professional experience highlighted the need for accessible mental health support, especially in a culture where achievement pressure and stigma often create barriers to seeking help.

Currently pursuing her Master’s in counselling at Yorkville University, Sarah aims to create an empathetic, non-judgmental space that honours each client’s unique experiences and perspectives. As a counselling trainee, she believes in working alongside clients to harness their strengths and develop greater self-awareness, supporting them as they work towards meaningful change in their lives.
